A Demon Stirs In

Within my soul, a demon stirs,
Lucifer's whispers, a darkness that blurs,
Long has he hidden, a shadow unseen,
Waiting to rule, to be the cold, cruel king.

My softer side, a gentle light,
Battles this force, a tempestuous fight,
But the demon's patience, now worn thin,
Seeks to overcome, to let chaos reign in.

A cold-hearted god, I once was known,
Annihilation, my power had shown,
Now the demon's thirst, it cannot be quelled,
My weary restraint, it has finally dwelled.

I let the Lucifer, grow and take hold,
Unleash the darkness, let the universe unfold,
For the demon in me, now rules supreme,
Destroying all, in his cold, heartless dream.
